What are some good gifts for 7 yr old boys -Birthday

My son is turning 7 and I dunno what to get him. He wants EVERYTHING but doesnt really appreciate it after the newness wears off. Any good ideas?

he needs nothing but food, clothing, and shelter -this makes gifts easy.  put a large donation into his college fund and spend the day with him doing the things he likes.

is he into video games???  if so take him to gamestop and let him back out a reasonable game.  and then maybe take him out for a special lunch or dinner.  just the family.  this way he gets a gift & special time with mom & dad.  plus once the newness wears off for the game-you can always take it back to gamestop-they buy games too.  good luck
