  1. Well, if you find yourself in the northern adirondack park, go to lake placid. There's a public course, Craig Wood golf course. It was voted one of the best in the country, including private clubs.

  2. There are great golf courses in every state.  To list them would take forever.  Purchase a golf magazine to see about great golf courses.  Or look at where the PGA Tour has tournaments.  These are courses that anyone can play.  Some are dependent on the kind of money you have.  For example: Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines, TPC at Scottsdale, Doral Golf Resort and Spa, TPC at Sawgrass, Bethpage, TPC at Deere Run, Cog Hill, etc.  Go to pgatour.com and look at the schedule for this year.  It will mention the courses played.  Some are private, some aren't.

  3. municipals offer the best bang for the buck

  4. That's a rather open question isnt it?  What do you want - pga or municipal?  Where do you live?  How long have you played?  Start with municipal for local courses - TPC Sawgrass is one that I hope to visit this year on the national level

  5. play some of the municipal courses in your  area.  For a low price, they offer some of the nicest courses you can  find!

  6. all golf courses are good.

  7. Of course Myrtle Beach, SC, it is the Golf Capitol of the World.

Also Palm Coast Florida has some real nice courses per my husbands comments. As does, Aruba! He thinks Aruba had the absolute best he had ever played! My hubbies dream is to Play Pebble Beach in California.

Do some research via the web, you will find tons.

    Happy Golfing to you!

  8. the people here are sooo cheap! and NO, not all courses are good.. some really suck.. if you are going to play this great sport you better play the best courses.. go spyglass or pebble.. any of the courses in that area. there is also a good all par 3 course there if you want to play a cheap fun round. Now outside the US i would recommend Luisita Golf.. its in the philippines but it is a REALLY great course.. the only course i have played outside the US that is worth every buck plus its reallly really cheap.. and Robert Trent Jones designed it too :D trust me that is a really good course.
