  1. whats wrong with BJJ?

  2. Judo is a grappling art too. Nage Waza (throwing techniques) is a big part but the main objective of Judo is to get the opponents on the ground and use Ne Waza (ground techniques) to submit them or the choke them out. Some other grappling arts Ninjutsu and Maharlika Kuntaw. Although Ninjutsu doesn't really aim to make the opponent submit (it aims to kill you), you can go easy on them and stop when they tap out. Bujinkan Ninjutsu is sort of illegal in competitions... Other than maybe mortal combat tournaments in Japan.

  3. Sambo

  4. Catch Wrestling is good read it up might be something your interested in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catch_Wrest...

  5. Old school catch, Judo, Shuia Jiao, and Chin Na if you manage to build up your coordination to a point where you can apply it in a fight.  Some Chin Na joint locks could be used in MMA; small joint (fingers and toes) manipulations are illegal, but I don't think stand up elbow or wrist locking are.

  6. Wow, good question.  As I wait for Combat SAMBO school to start again in September I study Taiji and do freestyle wrestling.  I tried Judo, but there are too many rules for me.  Wrestling gives me a good ground sense and speed that I would not otherwise have,  Wrestling also helps with strength and cardio.

Taiji gives me ideas of where the opponent is weak, it helps turn his strengths into weaknesses.

  7. combat wrestling (it basically freestyle wrestling + submissions), more emphasizes on top positions, and sambo, those are the only real arts that i have trained in

  8. Kodokan Judo
