  1. Do yourself a favor. Pay the extra money for a ceramic coated header. They're more expensive but they last forever. They also lower under hood temps which saves parts and helps with performance.

  2. Hooker and Hedman are popular brands.  I'd recommend getting turbo mufflers instead of glass packs though.

Here's some affordable shorty headers that will fit your Camaro:

  3. Summit Racing Equipment has a set of headers for a '70 Camaro with a small block under their house brand for $89.95. The part # is SUM-G9001. These are full length headers, but, they have the shorties too. They also have complete aluminized, mandrel bent header back dual exhaust systems for you. They range in size from 2 1/4"-3" and can be had with or without mufflers. The prices range from $149.95 for the 2 1/4" to $224.95 for the 3" with turbo mufflers included (I know, I'd rather have the glassies too.).

I've had a set of Summit Headers and a Summit dual exhaust system an my '78 GMC 1 TON 4X4 for the past 11 years. The only thing I've had to replace were the mufflers about 3 years ago. This was because instead of getting aluminized glasspacks, I got painted ones which I had purchased separately. Don't ask me why. I replaced them with aluminized and have no problems. The whole system is very high quality. I am completly satisfied with it.
