You can't really play metal on an acoustic guitar... sure you can play the notes; but would it sound "metal"? Not really. I'd get an electric guitar if I were you.

I agree with CJ... for Metal you need an AXE.

You CAN learn how to play a guitar on an ACOUSTIC guitar, however... but NEVER change just one string... take the guitar into a music store... buy a set of strings.. and have them show you how to put strings on... AND... BUY A TUNER at the same time... then you won't BREAK ANOTHER STRING... then next time you overtighten a string, you may damage the guitar.
