  1. Asian herb: Cassod Tree also

available in capsule & tea sachet.

It's not recommended for those with

    high blood pressure.

    Melatonin is also highly recommended.

Apart from herbs and Melatonin, natural

therapy is another way out with good credit.

  2. From a former insomniac. Start by taking 5HTP 1 hr before bedtime, it is not a sedative and you won't feel anything, you will just get naturally tired (it is a precurser to tryptophan, which is the equivalent of that tired feeling after eating thanksgiving turkey). For somehing stronger, go with valerian root- it will lull you to sleep but you won't have the dreaded morning after hangover. I have both on my bedside table. They are both available at any drugstore that carries vitamins.

  3. Do you have insomia?

My herbal drink is the solution to your problem.  It is comprised of 5 power herbs.  The most powerful herb, moringa, is even known to cure cancer.  Search the web for Moringa and you’ll know what I mean. I used to have insomia and it disappeared when I started drinking it.

  4. There are heaps of things you can do to help yourself sleep better.

Take a walk a couple of hours before bed. Fresh air and exercise work wonders to help you relax.

Have a hot, relaxing bath. Add a couple of drops of lavender and chamomile essential oils.

No drinks containing caffeine for at least two hours before bed.

Is your bedroom cluttered or messy? Have a tidy up and de-cluttering if so. It's very hard to relax in a cluttered environment.

Are your bedroom curtains thin? Either get some new ones, or some dark material to line them, which will stop light coming through.

    Reading can help relax you.

Herb wise? Valerian is a wonderful one. You can get it in capsule and tea form from most major herbalists. Be warned though. It smells and tastes disgusting! But it does work. Passiflora is also good.

Lettuce contains laudanum, which is also very soporific, so having a salad for dinner every now and again will also help.

    Hope this helps you.

  5. There's lots of herbal supplements you can take, though I haven't personally tried any, such as Kalms (special sleep ones).

However, I have a spray that I sometimes spray around my bed... it's from boots and is called 'sleep pillow mist', it smells alright and does get me to relax a bit more.

Also, drink a warm milky drink before going to bed, hot chocolate is great, and don't have any tea, coffee, fizzy drinks or alcohol... these are all stimulants and won't help!

Essential oils such as lavender and chamomile are supposed to aid relaxation and sleep, so try having a hot bath with a few drops of these oils before bed.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Agree with the lavender (use essential oil in lotion or bath as well as lavender pre-scented lotions); spray lavender spray on your pillow.

    Herbal: take valerian and passionflower.

  7. take a nice bath with bath salts like lavender and stuff, radox is very relaxing in the bath

  8. Lavender works best.

  9. Natural remedies include warm milk, melatonin, valerian, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  10. Lavender oil, either used in the bath before retiring or dropped on to the pillow is very sedative. One study a few years back successfully weaned patients off the addictive sleeping pill nitrazepam, using lavender oil.

  11. I'd recommend a nice hot cup of Chamomile tea to help your body relax and get you to fall asleep.
