  3. Gold Canyon candles offers fundraisers that can earn your organization 38-40% profit - that's up to $8.80 per candle profit!  That's awesome!  Each seller gets a rub-to-discover pamphlet so that the purchaser can smell the candles before they buy and I also send my business card to be given to every person who buys so that they have reassurance that they have a contact to check the status of their order...it helps with sales!  If you'd like more info please let me know :)  ladywithcandles at yahoo.

  4. 1) candy/candle sell

    2) car wash (with a local radio nearby 4 entertainment)

    3) Auction Date - Auction a Date with some of the band member for the next dance

  5. We used to "Sell The Band," where we would get someone to act as acutioneer, and raffle off the band. The highest bidder would be able to have us play anytime, anywhere they liked for up to 2 hours. It was easy, and you don't have to buy any products to sell.

We also did Tag Day, which basically we made a bunch of bookmarks and stood outside all the business in our school district soliciting donations in exchange for the tag, which members of the community would display so they weren't constantly harassed. We also went door to door. We did it all in our uniforms so people knew who we were. Make sure you get permission from the business to do that, though.

We sold fresh fruit that we ordered from some company in Florida. It was a great way to make a ton of money, but it was super hard. The way they deliver it is a big old mess. It just comes on a big truck, and you have to unload the truck yourself.

We also sold pizza kits and candy bars. You can get cases of candy bars from Sam's Club and then don't have to deal with shipping and hadnleing. We also did a car wash at Sam's Club and they do profit matching up to a certain figure.

The band also hosted the Fall-A-Fair every year, which was a carnival and dance for the high school and junior high students during football season on a Saturday. We rented carnival games from a local company, did face painting, sold snacks and hosted a dance. We charged for admission to the dance and sold tickets for the games and made a ton of money.

You can get your boosters to sell band t-shirts and stuff during football games. Also, our boosters ran the concession stand during the second half of the football game and got to keep the profits and tips from that half.

Theres tons of ideas, and nothing is too strange to work. I would suggest focusing on ideas like selling the band and tag day, where you can make a large profit quickly without having to invest too much into products to sell. Good luck!
