  1. First off before you have to worry about dodging you have to be able to see where the punches are going to land or when there going to be thrown. The trick to this is actually pretty simple anybody can see a punch coming before its even thrown if they know where to look.

When you square off with someone dont stare at there face or their feet, instead stare at their chest and use your peripheral vision to keep an eye on their head. By staring at the chest you see the muscles tense up or losses up, or move depending on what type of punch hes going to throw and with which hand hes going to throw with. Knowing that you can prepare to dodge it and counter punch him. Watch Oscar DeLaHoya, he has one of the best stances ive seen in boxing today. And also watch where his eyes are focused when hes in a defensive stance or stalking an opponent.

Im not sure exactly what ya meant their by meditating or heart attacks.

The bob and weave hanging ball trick works good as the other fella their said, although the swinging ball trick is more for intermediate skilled people after you build those muscles. Also tie a rope from one end of your room to the other about chest high, start at one end and bob and weave under and up under and up each side. Once you get better you can lower the rope.

Also you need to build up your Lats and abdominal muscles, to do that, grab a dumb bell of weight thats comfortable and hold with both hands at your side then bend sideways back and forth. This will work out your abs and lats so that you will be able to quickly bob and weave to dodge punches.

Another and probably the main tip is to make sure you tuck your chin into your chest and try and keep your shoulders just above your chin. That makes it easy to deflect punches off your shoulders that would other wise have crashed on your chin. Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins , Evander Holyfield and Oscar DeLaHoya do this perfectly.

Remember being able dodge a punch relies on your abdominal muscles and your Lat's, Also in your legs, without those muscles finely tuned don’t even bother trying to rely on dodging  punches in a real match,  instead focus on blocking.

And as for heart attacks, if you got a bad heart stay away from intense boxing training. The best way to improve your skills in boxing is too lightly spar, don’t try and win or hit the other fella, just work on defence, try new things, try fighting off the ropes, try getting out of a corner, try blocking, the only one who loses a sparring session is the person who didn’t learn anything from it.

  2. It sounds silly buy the best way to learn to dodge is to get hit, as once you've taken a hard blow you sure wont want to again so hopfully instincts will kick in and you'll be ducking a diving like a pro!

  3. Get a string and attach a small ball on the end. Hook the string to th ceiling. Let it down to just above shoulder height and practice bobbing and weaving it. Also shadowboxing will help. Pretend that someone is throwing punches and you are dodging them and come back with your own punches.

If you got a garage door opener sometimes you can use the string that you pull down as something to dodge, but you have to be tall enough. Also sometimes you can tape up something on your ceiling.
