  1. Well everyone has their idea of 'good'.

My daughter loves science as she wants to be a Palentolgist so we use a 'hands on' approach.

Here are some of the FREE websites that we use:

    ftexploring.com

    innerbody.com (biology)

    obdk.com (virtual owl pellets)

    funology.com

krampf.com (sends you FREE science experiments weekly)

hope those help you in some small way :)

  2. I would recommend three that we have used and LOVED.

Apologia, if they are in high school.  It was fantastic, and our kids learned soooo much.  But it is serious science.  I actually had the author as a college professor.  If the kids are ready to learn science and are responsible for some independent study, I HIGHLY recommend it.

For younger guys, we enjoyed Blood and Guts for biology.  Definitely "boy-friendly" and informative, too.

Creation: Ken Ham offers a fantastic science curriculum.  It's at his website, www.answersingenesis.org

One to avoid: Sonlight.  We liked their literature-based approach to history and reading, but the science bombed... too boring.

    Hope this helps!!

  3. My kids love doing these and I hate clearing the bloody mess, have fun.

my older bro took it in highschool, now he is a freshman in college and taking an honors chemistry class. He says that he has learned nothing that he didnt go over in highschool chemistry,of course.....he is just on his first semester, and it gets harder later.....but he isnt having any trouble as of yet.

  5. SOS(Switched on Schoolhouse) Because you can change the settings so that you pick if your able to skip stuff or not.

  6. I receintly "ran into" this study program...

  7. CyberEd Plato science offers great computer courses on Earth Science, Physical Science, Life Science, Biology, and Chemistry.  You can subscribe by going through the homeschool buyers co-op, www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.com  They have a group buy starting now.

Books that are fun science such as Gonzo Gizmos - great stuff you can build with stuff around the house and occasional trips to Radio Shack, plus the science behind how they work.
