I am the President of the Sophmore class of Lake Region Union High School, in Northern Vermont. I've been approved to lead a fundraising effort for charity with my class. The rest of the class representitives have agreed we should do something with an ecological charity like the Arbor Day Foundation. We'd prefer it to be a low, or no cost fundraiser. Does anyone have some ideas?

  1. Throw together a talent show...or something similar.

When I was in high school, we took turns styling the teachers hair (totally crazy) and then paraded them around the gym in a mock "fashion show". The teachers were good sports about it and people had to pay $1 to vote for their favorite. (Ballet box on a table before they entered the gym) We raised $483!!!

  2. I assume you all want to eat during the day.

How about nobody buying junk food or pre-packed food. Bring something from home that you (or a well-meaning relative) have prepared. If it is a nice day you could have a big picnic and share with your class. The money you save by not buying junk food could be given to charity.

Maybe this idea is not perfect but you could expand on it. Over to you.

  3. I work with a company that helps people set up efficient and low - cost fund raisers, both web based and offline. I'd be honored to assist you guys in raising the needed funds. Please feel free to email at your convenience for more details...

    Good luck!

  4. car wash , selling chocolate, magazines  but good ones not some stupid ones like barney and friends :)
