I am wanting to make some hair bows or ribbons for my daughters cheerleading team. I was kind of wanting to have the ribbons hanging down with maybe the team name on one and the girl's name on the other. Any suggestions? Can I buy iron-on letters that will iron on ribbon? I am open to any other suggestions also!

  1. Yes, you can get iron on letters that will adhere to ribbon.   I would suggest using a good quality ribbon and not crafting ribbon....you can purchase both the  fabric and the ribbon from a fabric store . Another idea is to  have them machine embroidered but that could be a bit expensive if you don't know of someone with an embroidery machine...

I made bows from curling ribbon for my daughters and her friends when they were school activities..(band & cheerleading)...I made one type out of everyday curling ribbon used on gifts...I made them very full and curly...I also used a ribbon shredder to give them more texture .....these were a big hit with the girls...Here a couple of different style bows you might find interesting if you want a variety....

have fun and hope this helps..!!!!

  2. Other Suggestion:  Crochet scrunchies in the team's color(s).  Large ones for the hair, smaller ones could be attached to the shoes

  3. I think it's cute when you get a ribbon for each collor and tie them all on the hairpiece.  Then just get a paintpen and paint their name and team name on one.

Also, I think BIG bows are really cute, rather than just the ribbons hanging down, although those are really cute too.
