What are some good ideas for my Journalism class?

I need a good , original idea for the school newspaper. Unique, very interesting.ANY ideas will be appreciated.

My current ideas are: new music groups, different food and interesting stuff about it, and a serial novel that will be posted in sections.

I like the idea of the serial novel.  The other ideas aren't that unique to newspapers.  With the serial novel, you could make it interactive.  You write the first installment and then pass it off to someone else to write the next, etc.  Put a blurb at the end of the first installment looking for writers for future installments.

Also unique would be something like "Pet of the Week", which would highlight one student and his/her pet and promote better pet care throughout the school.  Each column could contain a short "Pet Tip of the Week" from stuff you research online.

Also, something like "Show & Tell: What's your most unique possession?"  which would be another column highlighting something interesting while educating students or just entertaining them.
