We don't have time to request the children bring a picture of themselves in- so nothing like that.

  1. a callendar and get the kids to do some painting

use clay and makye a hand print ashtray

paint a glass and then seal it with vanish

make a card with pictures and painting

or a book by the same token

parents wont care it is the thought that counts

  2. salt dough or cinnamon dough ornaments....always a favorite here!

  3. Ornaments.  Anything with handprints are good.  You can make angels with handprints as the wings or reindeer with handprints as the antlers.  A wreath made out of handprints.

Also, if you have a day, get a disposable camera and take the pictures at school.  Or ask around to borrow a digital, you can print the pics on regular paper.  If you do that you can make a frame for it, cut it in a circle and glue it to one side of a cd, put wrapping paper behind it and write the year on the shiny side.

enchantedlearning.com has some cute ones too,

    Good Luck!

  4. handprints are awesome..but footprints are really really fun for kids...use washable paint and let the kids walk on the paper. If you could find some affordable cotten fabric you could get fabric paint and let them make pillows with hand and foot prints
