I'm attempting to resolve a matter of a Insurance policy that pays for burial services and what happens to the rest of the policy. The policy is irrevolable, are there alternatives?

  1. Talk with the company that issued the policy.  If the policy is irrevocable, this means the policy can not be changed.  It is what it is.  If it is a burial policy.  The policy probably only does that and there would be no other money available.  If you feel you have been wronged you can file a complaint with your states insurance commisioner, but I would recommend starting with the company that has issued the policy to see what the policy will do.  Good Luck.

  2. If the policy is irrevokable, you can't change anything - but the policy owner can stop paying for it and let it cancel.

Most "burial" policies are just a low limit lump sum payout, to the beneficiary.  So the beneficiary can actually do anything they want with the money - they don't HAVE to use it to pay for a burial.

  3. Your question is too vague.
