What are some good massage techniques?

It seems like a great service to be able to give to friends and family but I don't really know how to do it well.

Honestly the only way you can truly learn any massage techniques is to take a introduction class. That way you can feel it in your own body and then get the feedback you need from the person you worked on. I am a massage therapist and have tried doing the dvd instruction for further education and got frustrated with it. I like having the feedback from an instructor and a "client" that I am working on. Good luck! It is a fun endeavor!

some community colleges teach massage in cont ed etc

or buy videos. you need to watch them over & over again.........

It just takes practice.

Get some professional massages yourself.  You can learn alot that way.

There are some videos online for professionals that you can also get tips from.

The biggest thing is to be able to ask the person that you are giving the massage for constant feedback and be able to listen to what they say.  Since we all feel things differently what is nice for some is painful to others.
