  1. I typically freeze:

    spaghetti sauce

    chili

    lasagna

    stews

    & soups

  2. I used to make beef stew, meat loaf, Swiss steaks, stuffed peppers, chicken/turkey ala king, and pot roast in bulk and then freeze them in individual freezer bags for my kids.  They would take out a bag and warm it in the microwave or in a steamer and instant meal.

  3. Lasagna, soups, stews and the like.

But in the same amount of time it takes to reheat them you can have oven roasted pork chops or chicken cooked in the oven.  Just season the meat before freezing, then on your busy days you can thaw it while you're at work or school and put it into the oven when you get home and are spending time with your child.

  4. I always cook double chili or bolognase, and freeze half, then you have something quick to warm up. x

  5. the usual Spagetti and meatballs, or roast chicken, or a beef dish with gravy. I would recommend to make veges fresh on the day of the meal so that they are fresh. They only take 4 mins in the microwave to steam them. Or a salad to add some freshness

  6. One thing we do is brown hamburger with some light seasoning and onion. Put it in 1lb containers and freeze.  Then we always have browned meat ready to go for quick meals.  Hot dishes, chili, soup, spaghetti sauce, etc.

Pork chops in mushroom gravy is another one of our favorites.

  7. Taking some time to cook meals ahead of time is a great way to ensure a great dinner for your family even when you don't have much time.  At Kraftfoods.com, we have an area dedicated to make ahead/freeze meals that won't take a lot of preparation time.  You can find the "Planning Ahead:  Prep & Freeze" meals section here:

You'll find links to recipes for great freezer meals like enchiladas, parmesan chicken, sloppy joes, minestrone soup, lasagna and enchiladas.  On the same page, in the upper left hand corner, there is also a link to our Slow Cooker Recipes for days when you can toss everything in the slow cooker before you leave for school.

Another tip I use is to buy ground beef in bulk when it is on sale, brown it all in one cooking session, then portion it in quart-size freezer bags.  Most recipes call for 1 lb. of ground beef that you cook as the first step in the recipe, so make as many bags as you had pounds of raw beef.  This will give you a huge head start on tacos, burritos, sloppy joes or other ground beef meals, plus in these days when food is getting more expensive, it makes dinner more affordable!

  8. I do this all the time.  It's a great time saver. Here's what I make and freeze:

    - Soup

    - Casseroles (any kind)

    - Shepard's pie

    - Meatloaf

    - Spaghetti Sauce (then you just have to cook the noodles that day)

    - Lasagna

    - Roast (slice it and freeze it)

    - Meat pies/ chicken pot pies

  9. chilli, casaroles, stews. pies then you only need a bag of veg to cook
