  1. There are none to be honest. It's all in your mind. You have to have will power.

  2. cigs.. wellburtion i can not spell it so i sounded it out.as for weed..there is none..

also for cigs there are patches

  3. Nicotine addiction is one of the hardest habits to quit. Cigarette companies have also added some very harmful chemicals which can increase the craving to smoke.  I would say  the first thing to do is education on all the harmful effects  smoking can cause to the body.  Next there has to be the determination to quit.  Having a support group of  friends and family can also give encouragement.

There is a psychological aspect to smoking.  Some of the triggers are after morning coffee or tea,  after meals or  that evening glass of wine.   Being in familiar places and situations can also trigger the desire to smoke.  Exposure to secondhand smoke can also sabotage ones commitment.

Replacing the habit with something else like sugar free chewing gum helps.  Snacking on fruit or salad vegetables and drinking lots of spring water not only cleanses  toxins from the body but gives the quitter more of an incentive to think "healthy.".

Certain vitamins and herbs are helpful  to flush out toxins and combat the stress. Valerian root and St John's wort are good destressors. Taking larger doses of vitamin C, garlic, drinking lemon tea balm and ginko biloba flush out toxins. ( It's advisable to check with the doctor first.)

Wellbutrin and Chantix are prescription medicines.

Nicotine patches and nicorette gum are sold over the counter. They do have nicotine in them but can help to wean a person from the addiction without causing those withdrawal symptoms when going cold turkey.

It could take a couple of weeks for those cravings to begin to subside but thereafter it gets much easier.

  4. I smoked 3 pkg a day for 25 years. One day I thought enough of this dirty habit and went cold turkey. It is mind over matter though not easy it can be done.

  5. Just go cold turkey.

    It's a decision...a choice.

You may have to make it countless times a day, but that's what it is.

    One step at a time.

So many prescriptions for this purpose of ill side effects (there is even a class-action lawsuit for the families of people who took Chantix & committed suicide!) , that's why I say, just go cold turkey.

  6. I heard that hypnotherapy helps a lot of people.

  7. Wellbutrin (Bupropion) is a good one. It does help to have something to replace the habit of smoking. A lot of smokers, myself included, just enjoyed the act of smoking.  I would advise taking up some sort of hobby that allows you to fiddle with things in your fingers. Like card tricks, or coin tricks. That's the psychological part of the addiction. The physical withdrawals are bad enough, but can be dealt with and are over with in a few days. Don't replace the smoking act with eating, though! You'll gain a ton! :)

    Good luck.
