What are some good motorcycle brands?

I'm hoping of buying a motorcycle in couple of years(I'm starting to save now).I was wondering what are some good brands to look into?Is there anything I should know when looking to buy a motorcycle?Thanks in advance

I ride only Honda. Had a Bultaco once and it was a P.O.S..Hondas are built better than the other  brands, slightly heavier but runs forever.

kawasaki, honda, suzuki, yamaha. harleys are for fat asses who spend more time looking at their bike rather than riding it.  = )

I partially agree with SK. Just not the Harley part (SK, I'll save the thumbs down for you for later). :-) All the main bike makers out there have been in the game for a long time and make some very good stuff. Each bike has it's own character and it depends on what style of bike you like.

Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, Ducati, Augusta and Aprilla are a few good makers of bikes.  I am sure you will find a bike that fits your needs and budget with one of these manufactures.
