I've researched a company called buell and they maufacture a bike that supposedly gets 75-80? I believe it's called the blast. I'm looking for a two cylinder, double seater, and relatively quiet compared to the loudest harleys (neighborhood) any other suggestions? I'm not looking for a crotch rocket

  1. The Buell is a good choice you might also look at Kymco and Hyosung they get very high mileage. These are good  machines not imported  junk.

  2. I think some one has been fibbing to you.

My 650 United Motors crusier riding at 60-63 100 miles a day get 58-59 MPG.

The bike below has everything your looking for.

Be advised a 250 will get better MPG, but wont hold up to freeway speeds

  3. It depends on what style you are looking for. You can pretty much achieve that kind of mpg with any 250cc bike. Even 500cc bikes get around 60mpg.  I'm sure I'll get pounded on for saying this but Buell isn't the best bet if you are looking for craftsmanship, quality and reliability. They are...after all made by Harley. I would look at one of the big four..suzuki, honda, kawasaki or yamaha. You'll get much more for your dollar. To at least give you one suggestion. The suzuki gz250.

  4. It is natural for a buyer to want the best possible bang for the buck.  However you need to be honest with yourself.  If you want performance, mileage is bound to take a back seat.  If mileage is important (isn't it always) then I suggest you to make a sensible choice (decision from the head).  If you insist on a twin, I'm afraid, that mileage will never be that good.  What you need is a single cylinder of around 250cc in an overall light package.  Shop around.  I am quite sure you can find the thrill you seek even in a smaller displacement.  The good mileage you seek will be the bonus.

  5. The blast is an excellent vehicle and yes it gets great mileage and is quite reliable, I am a Harley technician(Harley owns Buell) and I can stand behind that vehicle very much so. Also the sportsters get 60-65 mpg made by Harley. The Honda Rebel 250 gets 85-90mpg, but it is slower. So its up to you, I ride a GSXR 1000 Suzuki that has 189hp and gets 36mpg, so you gotta like what you ride I guess.

  6. I only ride big cruisers, but a Honda Shadow Spirit will realistically get you 50+ MPG if you're highway riding and have to be able to reach 70+MPH  in the short distance of an on ramp with 300+lbs of human.  If you're only riding one person in town and not on the highway, 75MPG is possible - I'd go with Vespa.
