  1. spin moves work sometimes.

but the best move that will always work if you can actually do it:

dribble with your left hand and bounce the ball as your right foot hits the ground. do a jump stop and gather your self and go up for a layup.

lebron is really good at doing this, but he usually gets about 3-4 extra steps in the nba now days.

or dribble with your right hand and hit the ball on the floor as you are driving to the hoop as your left foot hits the ground. jump stop, gather yourself and try and jump higher than the defender...easy 2.

the jumping is the hardest part, it takes a lot of energy to do this move

  2. Practice ballhandling, dribblind and shoot every accassion u have in your free time. You can do everything if you have good dribblind skills. For dribblind, ball-handling and other drills visit www.coachesclipboard.net every drill has a clip.

  3. Some good moves would be the crossover and the shake-n-bake.

  4. go up strong. you need to have in your mind, layup. u should never settle for a jumpshot. im not sayin not to shoot, im just sayin that in a clutch situation, a layup is your best bet. what u do is u go in hard. if anyone gets in your way and there not set, dont slow down. if u run them over its a charge and if u can finish the layup its a 3 pointer.the best way to finish your layup is finishing strong. most of my layups come from fastbreaks so i usually do finger rolls because its almost impossible to block from behind. if u have to work for your layups then ur better off going up strong with two hands because u have a better chance of drawing contact and its easier to mke with two hands
