What are some good music artists/groups for a 10 yr. old girl?

Question

I would like my 10 year old daughter to explore more music options, but am worried about all the influence out there. Right now she loves Avril Lavigne and she is picky. Though I know no artist is perfect and will tend to have some kind of influence in both directions, I would like some ideas with a similar musical style (as this is what my daughter likes) but do not promote s*x, violence, drugs, etc. I have thought of Kelly Clarkson, but do not really know to many groups/singers. Please avoid music from the hip hop persuasion.

Maybe look for a light rock radio station. They tend to play family friendly music and you can better target the music she likes.

Well My 13 year old daughter LOVES the jonas brothers. Their great guys, and are GREAT role models for any age.

I would say Miley Cyrus, but she's not to good of a role model for young girls. She takes racy pictures.

Aly and AJ have great, appropriate music, and in my opinion, are a GREAT role model for younger kids. Their music does not promote anything on your list, and peronally I think they are awesome singers.

Taylor Swift is pretty good, she is a little bit country/pop.

like you said Kelly clarkson is good. so is Carrie Underwood. Try sara Berellis. She sings Love song, which I know many children 6-15 like.

Jordin Sparks is pretty good as well, some of her songs are a teeny bit hip hop, but some are not really. The song Tattoo is very good.
