This site is starting to suck so bad now that its gotten popular, since its watered down with douschebags and all their douschebag answers. Questions just get buried faster with little results.

  1. Mares has always been good.  Dacor too, though they may only make fins.

  2. none

  3. Masks: Ocean Master, Cressi, Aqua Lung. If it's sold in a dive shop, it'll be a quality mask. You should be concerned more with fit here anyway. A good quality mask that doesn't fit is worse than a dollar store one that does fit. Not all makes of mask will fit your face.

Snorkels: Entirely up for grabs here as all the manufacturers seem to come out with new gimmicks every year and none seem to really out do another. Best bet here is to just go with your gut feeling, fit and a little advice from a sales clerk after describing what you're after, be it for scuba or just snorkeling. If scuba, then look for a folding one ( the tube can be collapsed in half) that can be stowed in a BC pocket. Most divers ditch using their snorkel full time after a number of dives because it is a bit of a pain.
