I'm not moving for at least another 4 years, but i like to plan this stuff out. I already know i'm moving down south (from MA) and i'm getting myself a farm. I'm not some city girl movin' down south and thinking i can do this though.

I work at a farm and going to an agricultural high school. Anyway. I want to move to a small town with lots of farm land.. and i'm thinking about North Carolina... but not sure, any other states or towns that might be good?

  1. andyruss is right! Indiana is a great state for farming with a mixture of city life as well. Look into it.

I'm from Dallas,TX but I visit Indiana often, it has some nice countryside.

  2. Any little town right out side Seattle, WA.

    It so beautiful

    you get all four seasons

  3. Indiana is by far the best state to move to for farming...its not as far "down south" as you would like, but it is filled with small towns and farm houses.  And where I live is only 30 minutes from downtown, but it is the best farm land in the state. So if you miss the city it is only a short trip.  My high school is the #1 chapter in the FFA year after year in Indiana and they also have many national accolades every year.   It is an awesome place to live and I love it. I am a Hoosier born and raised and I am sure you would love to become one too.

    good luck!

  4. Virginia is also very nice, especially the South Central area. Farmville (kind of appropriate) is midway between Richmond and Lynchburg. It's kind of a progressive small town with two colleges, Longwood and Hampden-Sydney, located in/near it. The areas to the south toward South Boston and the North Carolina state line (about 20 miles)...Halifax, Lunenburg and Charlotte counties, are great agricultural areas. You're close to Richmond, a growing "New South" city as well as within a couple hours of the Norfolk area on the Atlantic coast. It's a mild four season climate with plenty of that southern charm. Good luck!

  5. Go to Hawaii

    I lived there.

  6. I'm from NC, the Jacksonville/Wilmington area. A cheap option would be Duplin County. Sucks more than the best vacuum, but it's cheap.
