Check last year's almanac, and compare it to the almanac from 1997, and the one from 1987.  You will find interesting weather trends.  This will also provide you with an opportunity to collect and analyze your own data, which will be essential in defending your facts later.

On Monday morning, I braved the chilly temperatures outside to pick up The Tennessean from the end of my driveway. The lead article on the front page informed me that global warming was making spring come earlier and that allergy suffers were paying the price.

The lead article in the Local News section of the same edition informed me that temperatures were unusually cold. In fact, according to John Cohen, a National Weather Service meteorologist, the temperature on Monday was a whopping 24 degrees below normal.

I am quite certain that the irony of that juxtaposition is completely lost on the global warming acolytes
