  1. animal bingo

  2. Duck.............Duck......Goose

  3. Do you mean board games or other types of games?  Board games include: Hi, Ho, Cherrio!; Don't Spill the Beans!; Candyland; Chutes and Ladders; Don't Break the Ice; Lucky Ducks; and Memory.  Perfection is fun for some preschoolers.  Don't try Trouble, it's more trouble than it's worth.  Preschoolers will need an adult present to help negotiate turn-taking.  (Exception: I've had older girls able to play independently in groups of 2 or 3.)

Preschool games: Hot Potato, London Bridge, Musical Chairs, Copycat (act like your partner,) Duck Duck Goose, Don't Steal the Bacon, Mother May I?, Cop and Robbers (takes practice, but my kids love it.)  (fyi-Hot and Cold is HARD for preschoolers.)

Do they have to be turn taking or "winner"games?  I play a lot of things with my preschoolers where we all play, and no one wins.  I sing a song (to no particular tune) that goes like this:

And now it's time for everyone, to all lay down and go to sleep.  When you wake up, then you will find--A pair of new shoes on your feet.

When I sing they have to lay down and close their eyes.  I tell them I'm putting on ___________ shoes. (Baby booties, cowboy boots, lion paws, kangaroo feet, kitten paws, frog feet, ice skates, roller skates-I'll even take away their feet and make them snakes.)  Then I wake them up and they act out what's on their feet.  The great thing is that if they get a little hyped up, you just sing the song again and they lay right back down for the new shoes.

I play a game like dodge ball.  You use either a huge ball or a small foam one.  The children stand in a circle (mine are actually in a square because I tell them to stay on the edge of the carpet) with two people in the middle.  One in front, the other in back with his hands on the front person's shoulders.  The front person is the shield.  The object of the game is for the outer edge people to work together to hit the shielded person with the ball.  If you have the ball, you can't just throw it because you'll hit the shield, not the person in the rear.  So you have to throw the ball to someone on the other side of the circle, who tries to get the inner person out.  A great game for teaching kids the importance of working together (cops and robbers is another game where kids have to work together.)

    Have fun!
