What are some good presents to buy for a guy for his birthday?

my bfs birthday is comeing up soon and im not really sure wat to get.i just want some general suggestions on things guys would really like

if he's a music guy give him an itunes card or something. or best buy.

or take him to a food place he likes, then take him to a movie he wants to see, something violent or something if that's his cup of tea, which it is for most guys, having you go to a movie that he would like and you wouldn't, it means alot, and he will notice.

if thats not something that u do. u can always get him a gift card for a place where he can get something he likes. (example if he likes electronics Best Buy) us guys dont rly care much about getting something specially pick for us and a lot of us dont rly get thoughtful stuff either.

Things i have gotten for my man

a) a necklace - a manly one its a little curled up dragon. He used o wear his old necklace but then lost it so i got him a new one, if he's the kind of guy you think might wear it (or hide it under his clothes) go for it. Guys like jewellery as much as we girls do.

b) a book on a subject you know he likes - this shows you actually care about him and take an interest in the things he likes and shows you think he is at least somewhat intellectual!

c) cologne - just like jewelry boys like to know they look good and smell good too! Pick out a scent you like and that you think suits him. Ask at the perfume counter for help if you're still unsure - that's their job!

d) dvds - always a safe bet and relatively cheap. If it is a new relationship (less than 6 months) this is a great idea.

e) gold class tickets to the movies - guys like this a h**l of a lot more than going out to a restaurant, there is less pressure - and who knows what could happen in the dark!!!

Just a few ideas - these are all very girlfriend-y gifts. Hope this helps.

i wud say an mp3 or mp4 or if u want a simpler thing then u can get him a watch.u can also get him a new cell phone.if he is athletic u can get him a football or if he is a fan of tennis get him a nice tennis racket etc

Well, I play guitar so if he does u can get specialy made guitar pix that can be engraved so you can engrave them. THEY ARE SOOO COOL
