Mommy is going out of town on business all week, and Daddy wants some ideas for crafts to do with a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old in the evenings. Maybe something with footprints/hand-prints? Any ideas?

  1. Walmart sells the clay hand print foot print kits!

Also grab a cake mix (so it's easy) and let them help make cupcakes (follow the receipe on the box) and buy a can of sprinkle icing. It's very rewarding for them!

Finger painting on a huge piece of paper and hang it in thier room.

Also their are T-shirt kits where the kids use paint on their hands to make a "best Daddy or Mommy shirt"!

modeling clay that dries as a keep sake of your time together!

    And of course coloring!!

    It really is endless!

Search crafts for toddlers on-line, you'll be a kid again and your kids will have very fond memories of this time rather than "missing Mommy"!!

    Have fun

  2. go on a walk and search for things... with the older one you could make a scavenger hunt list (1 long stick, one little round rock) take buckets for both kids and then when you get back you could paint the items or glue them to a board or something

this is actually very stimulating for them, make sure you encourage conversation about your surroundings: wow, did you see that bird, where do you think its going?

  3. Sidewalk chalk, you can make anything with construction paper, scissors and a large cardboard box (make a train, a firetruck, etc.), thread cheerios or froot loops onto pipe cleaners for bracelets, look online for printables,  buy art stuff at the dollar store (ours has paints, pompoms, feathers, glue sticks, construction paper, stickers) and get creative!
