What are some good questions for a dance tryout interview?

I'm needing a little help. Our dance company will have a tryout in a couple of months and I'm helping to coordinate it. I think we have the basic layout down, but I need some suggestions on at least 10 good questions to ask the person auditioning.

I might also like any tips or suggestions on the overall tryout and how to determine the best qualified for our dance team. Thanks!

  1. When I ask a dancer or actor questions for interviews, I ask about some personal stuff to throw them off guard and if they respond well and polite then I know I've found some one great to work with.

Also ask them questions like, how long have you been dancing, do you enjoy dancing, do you have a temper, have you had any dance related injuries, do you mind dancing in (so-in-so) costume, do you mind dancing with (so-in-so). You know stuff like that.

I also use numbers for auditioning people instead of name cards so if someone knows a person auditioning family, then it's still fair no one knows anyone else.

And It's good to keep a straight face, don't let them know what you're thinking. Well there you go, hope this helps.

  2. well if the person can take direction well and figure out details with out asking many questions there good to be on a team.

    why they like dancing

what training have they had and how long

how much are they dedicated if they make the team
