What are some good questions to ask a potential roommate??

I am going to meet with some one 2nite.... I need some hard questions to ask,besides do u smoke,do u drink,....??? any help?? thanks

Do they have a criminal background of any kind. What is their credit score and can you give me any references from which you lived before?

Ask about their financial situation:

do you have a steady job?

do you have any savings?

what would you do if you lost your job?

Also about cleanliness:

how often do you clean your room?

how would you like to split the chores if you move in?

do you intend to invite friends over? how often?

do you intend to invite someone to spend the night in the apartment?  how often? (if it's a boyfriend/girlfriend ask to meet him/her)

Will they clean?

Will they take turns cleaning/resupplying the bathroom

Do they stay out late.

Do they drink/smoke/use illegal drugs?

Do they listen to music loud/late/early?

Do they wake up on time?

Do they need a roommate to play the role of mom?

Will they have sleep over guests?

Do they fry foods or prefer never frying (we no-fry people can smell a fry home)

Do they have pets?

Did they leave their last roommate on friendly terms?

Are they emotional strong/weak.

What are their religious beliefs/will it create problems?

There are tons of questions, but in general I was always able to work things out with my roommates.  It definitely gives you good live lessons.  Best......

have you ever been arrested, do you have alot of friends or family and do they visit you often?  do they get along well with others ,light or heavy sleeper,clean person or messy,loud or a quiet person,do you stay in alot,do you like to cook, how do you feel about cleaning, are they good about paying rent on time like that,and do they bathe every day,and practice great hygine, do they do laundry regularly ,get as personal as you want if they don't like it they don't have to rent from you
