I am currently trying to get into Auto. Sales and have two interviews next week. I always ask a lot of questions at interviews, but I am stumped for this one. I want to know what are some good questions to ask at the interview as far as commission and pretty much anything else. Thanks!

  1. Your commission is probably based on "gross profit," of the deal, so I'd find out as much about that as possible.

i.e.  "What is your average gross profit per deal?"  "Do I get paid on the front end and back end?" (if just front end)  "How much of that is the front end?"  "If we underallow on the trade, does that count towards the GP?"

"How many sales does your average rep make in a month?"  "What about your top reps?"

" How do you get your "ups," are they in order, called, first one to the customer?"
