Question:

What are some good "up" hairstlyes for female police officers?

I just joined the police department and need to wear my hair up, which I'm not used to doing. My hair is the same color, length, and consistency of Blake Lively's. (she's in the sisterhood of the traveling pants). What can I do with it to keep it UP other than the simple ponytail?

links would be nice :)

  1. How about a sleek ponytail held in a bun??

A sleek bun is still convienient like a ponytail, but it's a lot prettier.

Another option (still along the ponytail line) is a teased pony. I can NOT do the whole teasing thing with a comb, so I cheat. I take the top part of my hair like I'm going to put it in a mini ponytail, then I twist it and push it upward. It immediately puffs up, and I hold it with a barrette.

Still not impressed? A really pretty idea is a braided updo. Takes a few extra minutes, but holds in place super well and keeps your hair in place on the job. Here, Sienna Miller demonstrates:

My only fear is that these might be a little dramatic on the job. If so, why don't you start with a ponytail, then lift the tail up and pin in place?? The result is easy, simple, and chic.

If in doubt, you can even curl your hair with a 1 inch barrel iron and put it in two low pigtails. A curly bun looks super cute, too.

Another suggestion: Spend a few minutes in your mirror one day. Surround yourself with hairbands, barrettes, big jaw clips, combs, brushes, and whatever you need. Experiment. I'm sure something will be cute.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW JOB. I HOPE I HELPED WITH THE HAIR PROBLEM!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

  2. just shave it down to a high and tight...it'll give you much more of a command presence...

it's probobly hard enough to be taken seriously...this will grab their attention.

zero on the sides, 3 on top. and wear lots of flannel on your days off.

  3. wrap it up in a bun. a herringbone braid would work too.

  4. bun
