What are some good rabbit toys?

I'm going to get a dutch rabbit soon and I already have a mini rex. I heard that smaller breeds have a longer life if they are kept occupied. is that true? could you also give me some ideas on making a good pet rabbit toy? thanks in advance!

My rabbits love to play with balled-up pieces of plain paper.  They also enjoy throwing empty paper towel/toilet paper holders.  Also, my girl bunny has a plastic Fisher-Price chain hanging down the middle of her cage that she throws around and chases, as well as a Fisher-Price jingle ball.  Hay balls with jingle-balls in the middle are fun too.  Wood blocks and balls are definitely recommended.  In my experience, my rabbits have always enjoyed the cheap, free toys more than the fancy expensive toys they sell in stores.  I hope this helps!

Great choices! I own a mini rex, but he's being brought back to the breeder today, for bad biting habits!

I've also owned a dutch, and he was the sweetest gentlest thing ever!

Now, it is probably true that Smaller breeds live longer, in most cases of animals, this fact has been proved to be true.

However, your going to want to get either a neutered male, and a spayed female, or two females, if the male isn't neutered but the female is spayed, he will drive her NUTS!

As for bunny toys I use balls that have bells in the middle, I use Toilet paper tubes, and I use cardboard boxes, all of these are a fvorate of my bunny, I've also put beads in a toilet paper tube ,then taped it, but my bunny didn't like that one too much.

I also make little cubbies for the mto hide in!

I have never heard that, but rabbits can live, if properly cared for, up to 15 years.

And rabbits love to chew, so make sure you don't get stuff that is plastic, otherwise they could ingest it.  But Kleenex boxes, Oatmeal tubes, wood blocks, apple tree branches, or other hard objects.  But my little Polish also likes to play with a Venom stuffed toy.

All animals live longer with exercise and environmental enrichment like toys.  My bunnies like brown toilet paper and paper towel tubes stuffed with timothy hay (not the white tubes, they are chemically bleached) and plain brown paper bags, also stuffed with hay.  Plastic baby keys are usually a big hit as well as anything throwable with a bell.  Here's a couple of sites with some great toys, which can also probably give you ideas of things you can make at home!  http://www.bunnybytes.com/cgi-bin/start....
