What are some good rainy day activities?

My 4 year old hasn't been interested in much I have suggested. So far we took a walk in the rain with our rain coats and umbrellas and made "raindrop art". Paint paper with washable water paint in big colorful splotches then set it out in the rain for a few minutes then hang it up to dry. It makes a streaky water washed stained glass effect. Any other good ideas?

  1. It's always fun to snuggle up and watch a movie together or read to each other. Give each other make overs (if it's a girl), or draw silly pictures.

  2. Rainy days may seem dull and boring sometimes but there are activities to do on rainy days. Look at this link you might find some, here they have these kits which are very fun to do on any day and are not expensive what so ever, and if these still don’t work make sure you play a board game or something like hide and seek.

  3. You could try playing dolls, pretend to be animals, bake cookies, watch movie, color, read a book, or  make fruit loop necklaces.

  4. Macaroni art!  Or stained glass windows.  You'll need crayons, waxed paper, an old tea towel or pillow case, & an iron. - put small bits of crayon (you can break or shave) between 2 sheets of waxed paper.  I have even had my son color heavily on one of the sheets of wax paper & then cover with the other.  Place the tea towel or pillowcase over the waxed paper & iron on low heat until the crayon melts (if you have an old iron - better.  I went & got one at Goodwill just for kid crafts).  When it's cool to touch you can cut out, frame in construction paper & hang in the window.  My kids & I even made mini ones as x-mas tree ornaments.

  5. Singing in the rain. Singing in the rain

Dancing and singing works for me and my daughter
