What are some good real strategy games on PC or PS3? ?

RTS - real time strategy games... some of the best include the CnC series (Command and Conquer). Command and Conquer 3 was just released a couple years ago (if that) and you can build bases, tanks, infantry, etc., it's based in the future for CnC3. However, they also have Red Alert 1, 2, and soon to be 3, which is modern technology. If you are looking for realistic units, try Command and Conquer Generals.

World in Confllict is a RTS based in 1989 - very cool game.

Company of Heroes is a WWII RTS - pretty good... I got bored quickly though.
