What I mean is what could I say to make me be chosen. I can't say looks good on college resume. I'm trying to find the words of why I want to be chosen...like civic duty without being too cliche.

  1. Some good reasons would be:

1.) to get involved in your school

2.) to share ideas that could change your school for the better

3.) to get to know more people.

Hope you do well with your essay!

  2. This will sound cliche! but...

I'd say I have the ability to remain fairly objective over the issues which my peers feel strongly about, therefore  I think I can put across what we want discussed in a coherent and reasonable manner.  I don't feel I belong to one particular clique/segment of our year so I think I would be able to represent all of us.  I think I have an adult head on young shoulders and can bring the youth perspective to the table in a way that adults can relate to.  I feel I have the respect and trust amongst my peers that would make me an approachable representative that the students could relate to.  I want to show that young people have good ideas, i want to see some of these ideas discussed and maybe taken on board, I feel I can articulate the unspoken voice of my year.  Ultimately I want to use the skills I have been given for the greater good and to the best of my ability.  At the moment this opportunity provides me with a platform to do so, to the benefit of my year/peer group.  I think I could improve the way students view teachers and school and keep tensions to a minimum.
