The National Park Service has proposed opening up crucial Florida Panther habitat to off-road vehicles, and I'd like to fill out a petition to protect this beautiful animal, but I need ideas as they're not coming to mind right now. Help please??

  1. extremely endangered

    beautiful

    ecological impact

    conservation

    etc

    ps keep trying!!!!!

  2. since they are predators they keep the snake, rhodent and small animal population in check. they eat the dead animals also before they can stink up the place. these cats do not seek out humans they just want to be left alone to live.

fear and the desire to rid oueselves of all we do not understand causes problems for

    all things different from us.

  3. really now... what good is that panther doing for the environment. i think we should just care about our own world because we have enough problems just with that. why worry about animals

  4. Check with US Fish and Wildlife, Ecological Services Division (there is an office in Vero Beach). This office is in charge of the Endangered Species Act. If the panther is on the list, the NPS must get permission from USFWS, as well as perform an environmental assessment in order to prove that the panther is not harmed, harassed, killed, habitat encroached, etc.

You can also contact NGOs (Nature Conservancy, WWF, among others) to see if they can do anything. Sometimes, depending on politics, the different environmental divisions of the federal government have to placate the local powers that be (in  this case, ATV owners), and have only limited powers.

  5. Just for the fact that you state it is an endangered species is a good enough reason.

  6. You said it, extremely endangered, that should be enough reason. Maybe you could talk to the National Park service and ask the reason and what impact will that have on this creature's habitat. You can request that info through the Freedom of Information Act if you get static. Also talk to Greenpeace, they might help you out, and talk to someone at a zoo about this creature's habits and how this would affect them. Armed with this info you can then proceed with your petition.

    Good Luck

  7. They don't taste all that good.

Unless you fillet it off the bone and sauté  it in butter with mushroom on the side.

But who would want to go through that trouble, am I right?

  8. I'm a off roader leave me along  I hate a do gooder if see one I will run him over with my 4 wheeler

  9. Gosh, I didn't know there was a Florida Panther.  But human kind benefits from protecting nature and animals.

  10. If evolution is a good thing... and a species is dieing out.... then there is no problem.

So.. did the panther evolve or was it created?
