I want to do a boys vs. girls penny war with my 3rd graders to raise money for Idol Gives Back (half of the money will go to our schools "Gives Back" fund as well). I'd like for the winning team's reward to be free. I plan on matching their donation with my own money, so I don't want to spend out of pocket for their reward. I could do traditional rewards like extra recess or something, but I want something more unique. One idea I have (in the spirit of service to others) is to let the winning team be waited upon by the losing team. It could involve letting the winners be first to line up for lunch and whatnot, putting up their bookbags in the morning, packing them in the afternoon, pushing in and pulling out their chairs, retrieving supplies throughout the day, etc. Any other ideas?

  1. how about letting every kid bring something healthy, then having a little party. get one kid to bring carrot sticks and ranch, another  to bring finger sandwiches, cookies, whatever. or you could make it an outside picnic, if the weather is nice where you are. and get some paper plates and make little plates with the leftovers and send everything back home with the kids.

  3. How about letting the winning team sit where they want one day, eat in the room and watch a movie during lunch, have a guest person like the principal eat lunch with them or I know we had a Wendy's close by and they would sometimes donate free small frosty's to our class.

Great idea to have them do "Give Back".
