  1. Grege Bear: "Eon" and it's sequel, "Eternity". The latter has also some alternate history stuff in it!

  2. "Tau Zero" by Poul Anderson.

    brilliant

  3. I could spend the night listing titles - I loved SciFi before it was popular to do so - we were the way-out space nerds - but check out these authors:

    Isaac Asimov

    Ben Bova

    Larry Niven

    Anne McCaffrey

    Poul Anderson

    Frederick Pohl

    Harlan Ellison

    Philip Jose Farmer

    Frank Herbert

They're all good... help me out here SciFi fans - I know I'm leaving a lot out!

  4. I like the Honor Harrington novels, myself, and will second the vote for Heinlein.

You may want to visit Baen's website.  They have a free library where you can read  many books online for free.

  5. Pushing Ice - Alastair Reynolds

  6. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle is a good one.

  7. Beam me up, Scotty. I would add Robert A. Heinlein to the list, and, specifically, his book "Needle."
