What are some good simple community service ideas?

Nothing that is too involved. I've picked up trash, and packed food for a food drive. I really have no idea what to do. Our Honor Society just leaves it up to us on what to do (no lists or helpful information), and the town I live in is rural and tiny. Any help?

Maybe you have a SPCA chapter in the area where you could volunteer-or you could help the elderly around by doing housework or yard work, even doing their grocery shopping for them. Maybe you could clean up the roads and highways in your area or volunteer at a local hospital.
