  1. It depends. If you don't want to spend a ton of money,  I would get a K2. Burton is by far the largest company, but their cheaper boards are mass produced and do not get as much "CARE" when they come of off the assembly line. (This goes for all cheaper boards too, under $200). Burton's more expensive boards are the top of the line! I would spend about $150 on a board to learn on, and then get a more expensive board as I progressed.

For Bindings, I like Ride. The biggest reason is because Ride uses aluminum in ALL their bindings and that provides a lot more support than plastic used by burton, forum, etc. Ride'sLX and  EX bindings are excellent!!! I would skimp a little on the board to get a better pair of bindings. Also, if you get more expensive  bindings, they will last for quite a while.

Boots are THE MOST IMPORTANT part of a snowboard setup. If you have crappy boots, your feet will freeze, hurt, and you will not want to ride. Also make sure the boots fit well into the bindings (burton boots fit well only in burton bindings) DC's fit in everything, 32's fit in everything also. I have a pair of DC's and they are extremely comfortable and warm and give a lot of support. 32's are also great. Look to spend about $150 for good boots.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Dave

  2. burton, lamar, roxy, or K2

  3. Burton is top of the line, but is very expensive.

Lamar is a very good board and is not as expensive.

The best thing to do is go to different shops and look around.
