With summer coming on strong, everyone is starting to get bites- and lots of them! I am wondering if anyone out there knows some ways that you can use items that are found commonly at home to help with the itch of bug bites, without using normal store-bought lotion.

  1. Arnica or Calendula cream, available at Wild Oats/Whole Foods store.

  2. Paste of baking soda and water helps neutralize the acid in bug bites.

  3. Tea tree oil...its been around for a loooonnnnnggggg time. It is used in australia for a lot of skin problems and bug bites.

  4. Toothpaste!  Strange but true.  I read it online a few weeks ago and have tried it.  It stops itching almost immediately after you dab it on.

  5. theres this stuff called 'after bite' that they sell at like CVS, wallgreens ect.

it takes the itch out i just used some like 10 mins ago and im not itchy at all, it kinda stings when u put it on but its not that bad, and its worth it
