One suggestion - Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind".  When I heard it as a teenager, I kinda liked it.  Then when I heard it in my 20's, I felt like it was what I should say to my parents for surviving raising four kids on a small income. Me and my brothers and sister didn't appreciate it until we were old enough to see how our parents sacrificed for us.
