  1. Hi,

@ to Likeitor : Samaritaine is definitly closed, since 5  years ago.

    I agree with answers above

    Welcome in Paris !

  2. If you want a department store, I would try the C&A and Samaratine on the right bank.  They have a good variety of departments, some good but inexpensive labels and are right in the centre of Paris.  There is also Monoprix and they are more or less the K-Mart of France.  Some good bargains there for a 13 year old in Paris!

Ooops, forgot about my dear old Samaratine!

  3. When i went i went to les halles shopping centre they have very cheap shops like moa its like a store with all girly stuff very resoniable and sephora theres lots init and there awl cheap or go to gallerie lafayete (cant spel it!) its cheap to and the shops that are around it are cheap to(just back in febuary)

  4. The dollar is very weak against the euro and things will be very expensive as a result. However, you might enjoy going to one of the "flea markets" in Paris.

The best known and the largest is the Marché aux Puces St-Ouen.  It is a complex of 2,500 to 3,000 open stalls and shops on the northern fringe of the city, selling everything from antiques to junk, from new to vintage clothing. Monday is traditionally the best day for bargain hunters.

To get there take the Métro to the  Porte de Clignancourt stop and when you exit the station turn left, cross the blvd. Ney, and then walk north on avenue de la Porte Montmartre.
