What are some good stuff to eat for energy ?

I have a soccer tournament tomorrow and I am wondering what is some good stuff to get energy? Because I'm going to the store to get some stuff.

  5. Gatorade, and anything full of sugar, I know it seems unhealthy but sugar converts into energy. Good luck in your game and watch out for the offside call!

  6. get some good trail mix muts and raisens or cranberries go somewhere you can make your own if you can it's the best and it's cheaper in the long run. they sell trail mix to people who hike all day so they dont have to eat but can still get energy dont eat a whole bunch at the same time but eat it an hour b4 and 30 min b4 and 20 min b4 and it has the sodium you will need to replenish as you sweat it out

I know that marathoners and long distance bike riders usually have a big pasta meal.  You will need carbohydrates for quickly available energy.  You will need some protein for mental sharpness, too. I guess eating some eggs(if you like them) protein bars plus pasta would work.  Sounds like strange food choices.  Also fruits or dried fruit have a lot of carbs.

    You can also go to an athletic or outdoors store and get a type of gel- think it's called GooGel, which you can keep in a pocket and suck up quickly for a burst of carbs during the day.  The staff at REI, etc, will know what you are talking about if you describe what you want it for.
