  1. You can hear my two 10's that get 200RMS each five houses away.

Im glad to see you only state RMS because peak and max mean NOTHING.

For great bass, loud and clean, two 12's are the way to go.

15's are just too slow and 10's don't do the job. Not for me at least.

I would go with two 12" Alpine Type-R's. They are fairly cheap maybe 200$ a peice and are 500RMS each with DVC coils, 2 or 4-ohm. If you put them in the right sized ported box, with a good amount of power, you will be heard. Even 300RMS per woofer would be fine. There are two amps that put out 1000RMS at 2-ohm from Alpine and One that is 600RMS @2-ohm.

Even one of these subs would be loud getting a full 500RMS is the proper box. Alpine does make an amp or two at 500RMS which would be a perfect match.

Look into the type-r's they sound nice and don't break the bank!

  2. I'm not giving you any information because then you'd annoy me while driving past my house.

Also, there's no right answer to your question.  It's not based on the subwoofer.  There's a lot more to it than that.  A sub with a higher power rating will typically get louder.  A ported box will emphasize certain frequencies which will make them louder.  The amount of power you give the sub will affect the loudness.  The type of vehicle that it's in.  All of these things play into how loud it is (especially from the outside of the car).

Regardless, if anyone can hear you from 5 houses away, then you're just obnoxious.

  3. dude bigger is always better get 4 almani 15's series7 wit 4 3000 watt amp and you will be amazed ... jl audio w7 are pretty bad but if you want to do it up get two jackhammers im pretty sure your neighbors will call the police even before you get near your neighbor hood and have one sittin in your driveway wit a ticket in hand before you even get there

  4. ok heres the true answer to this question... no power references will do that kinda job right......get on of the following in a 15 or an 18(multiple woofers will make it a lot more hardcore....get fi btls, treo woofers, re x*x or mt, mmats juggernauts, orion hccas, kicker solox, digital designs 3500 or 9500 or if crazy the z series, memphis mojos, rockford t2s, mtx 9500s or the almighty jackhammer(aka car audios biggest publicity stunt), pioneer premiers spl champion, or anything thats more than 1000watts rms.....some of the woofers on this list can be heard from neighborhoods away ....give them at least 1000watts or its not worth it and give the treos ,digital designs, solox, x*x , mts, btls, and juggernauts around 1500-3000watts each....do it to it

  9. i had two memphis power reference 12's. they are not any where close to top of the line memphis subs. but i stuck them in a ported box with an 1800 watt kenwood amp (everyone knows that kenwood amps dont push as much as they are rated at). they hammered, it would hit so hard that my friends wouldn't sit in my truck with it turned up. it wasn't distorting either, so if you want to get a low budget system that hits hard check out memphis power reference subs
