  1. try taking your horse with a plain halter and leadrope and do bending exercises stand on one side next to his/hers ribcage and pull you horses head around stop at at a place where he looks like hes stretching and hold until he comes that little bit further then release. do both sides. i also stretch my horses front legs and work on holding my hand on the poll and getting my horses to drop there head down to pressure. I also work on turning on the haunches or pivoting on the ground then backing up. This will get them light and responsive.

  2. Work on getting your horse to stretch down low like a QH the peanut rolling idea. To do this you over bend them a little to the inside while pushing them forward and asking them to step underneath themselves as they walk. Once they drop their head down, push your hand forward as a reward. Do this for several weeks until your horse can hold his head down constantly with only small reminders.

Once this is accomplished pick up a light contact and push him into the bit. But remember to bend him a little to the inside.

Also doing spiral out circles with him over bent will encourage him to tuck and drive with his butt, lift his back and drop his head.

The reason a horse drops his head is because he drives from the hind end, lifts his back makes a natural arch and drops his head.

Take a whip. bend one end under (the end you bend is the horses tail) watch as the middle(back) lifts and the front drops. (head)

that is what you are trying todo with your horse.

Good luck hoped that helps some
