Endless Summer is the "bible" of surf films.  But, if you want something a bit more modern, my personal favorites are the following:

September Sessions

Shelter

Thicker Than Water

- If you dig Jack Johnson's music, check out September Sessions first.  He filmed this movie before he became a bigtime musician.  In fact, Kelly Slater et al had to convince him to put his song F-Stop Blues into the film.  If you watch it, you'll recognize the song at the end.  From there, check out the other 2 flicks.  

Others along the same style:

- A Broke Down Melody (same deal here...)

- Stylemasters (older school guys, a lot of 70's/80's era stuff)

- Campaign (Taylor Steele movie)

The Bruce Movie, Blue Horizon, Islands in the Stream, and Riding Giants.

In general, surfing movies and documentaries can be kind of boring so it needs a better subject than just people surfing and talking about surfing.

What's more interesting than Bruce, Andy and his attitude vs. Kelly and Dave, Laird, Brian, and some really amazing footage?
