What are some good techniques to run for long without getting tired?

I haven't been running for a while and am in okay shape. Today i started again and ran for 30mins and after was really sore tired and i had to stop a couple times. What are some good ways to run for longer without feeling like that and getting tired?

  1. One way that people get faster is by running intervals.  You go slowly for a bit then speed it up, then run a short distance at your fastest, then start slowing down, then jog a bit, then do the sequence again. Adults often use telephone poles to measure their short and long distances when doing intervals.

    You could do this in your yard.  


  2. Try pacing yourself at a slow rate. Than as you start to get used to running for a long period at that speed, speed up and so on.

  3. Practice makes a man perfect.Do not run very fast or you will get tired soon.Run at the speed you feel comfortable.Then you can continue for long

  4. well you need to start small and then gradually get bigger. like...your first run should be for like 10 minutes...then ad 10 minutes...and again. just do that and your body will build stamina/

  5. practice!! run everyday and keep up with exercising. also stretch sore muscles to loosen them up. the more you run, the longer you will be able to sooner! if you dont use an ipod while running, I would suggest that because it takes your mind off of the pain and being tired!

    i agree with the excersise trainer,

    interval is really the best way, i was overweight couldnt run for 5 mins, and it 10 weeks i am doing a 10k run and feel great, i did it by  interval training along with healthy eating and lots of water
