  1. To get some material before getting organised, are there any great stories, funny stories, events, special occassions, class teamwork, big mistakes, lessons learned, or even say a charity fund raising commitment.

For an overall topic perhaps the material will give you something. You could take say some lessons learned, goal setting, special efforts by teachers, hard work and perseverance, or even just how much you will miss everyone.

Your friendships will be important and you may well have good material on how much they have done for you and how much you will miss them.

You might even find a quote you like. Something like

    "Your time is limited,

so don't waste it living someone else's life

Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.

And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

They somehow already know what you truly want to become.

    Everything else is secondary."

Coming on to the speech, perhaps you have a strong funny starter, if not a formal opening like Principal Hughes, Honored Guests etc would do.

    Congratulate the graduates.

Get your thanks in early to all those who have helped, teachers, family, friends and anyone special.

You can now turn to your topic and use your material.

Can be useful to tell everyone what the past few years have meant to you too.

Bring everything to the present and how you feel on this graduation day. What it means to you and all the students.

It is a very special day.

Now you can take the topic of your speech and look forward to the future.

Where are you going to next, what are your hopes, dreams and ambitions.

What do you wish for your fellow students over the coming years. How will you keep in touch, and how much you will miss them.

If you have some time to work on the delivery of your speech, practice, practice, practice is the best way. If you can speak slowly and to maintain some eye contact you could write in the top half of the page.

I hope this can help you in some way.

    Good Luck!

  2. dont sound too fake

  3. Some things you might want to cover are: review the years yo spent in that school you're graduating from; look to the future; thank your parents and teachers for their support over the years; ask your friends what they would like to hear about; ask your friends for ideas; talk about friendships made; tell some funny stories that happened during your "career" at the school; relate how the school has influenced your outlook in education and even in life; you might even "Google" the terms "graduation speeches" and see what you find.

When you're looking for graduation speech topics, be sure to make a list of the topics so you won't forget what ideas came up while you were doing your research.

Good luck with your speech.  I'm sure you'll find some good things to write about.

  4. At my college graduation I saw a kid do the funniest thing. He said "Now everyone in the audience, if you could take out a piece of paper and something to write with. I'm serious... you're programs will work just fine. Now I want you to write this down _____@yahoo.com. That is my personal email address. I am still looking for a job and any help would just be great." Everyone died laughing and I wouldn't be surprised if he got some offers. Of course the rest of the speech was good, but that was la piece de resistance
