  1. hay IF YER NOT FIRST YOUR LAST!!!

  2. first walk the track and look for good lines make sure u have a new line to go 2 if ur orginal becomes rough... pick a good starting gate if its a concerete pad style gate do a a quick burnout to warm up the tires and have one of racing buddys or family clear out ur line for any rock.. once the 30 sec board goes sideways stay concentrated on the gate when it drop slip the clutch and try to get a good start.... just ride smooth and dont do anything over your limitations and you should be alright..also dont take to both feet of your pegs if u get squarrialy it my feel like its gonna help but it will only make ur wobbaly throw you off your rythem.. good lucky

  3. Don't aim to be a winner in the first race.  Aim to stay upright, finish the race and enjoy the ride.

You should always feel a little bit nervous before a race as the adrenalin helps you race at optimium.

Try to get off the start as best you can but don't worry if you are at the back of the pack, just try your best to keep in touch with some of the riders that are around you.  Don't be afraid to try a different line as many riders just play follow the leader and just because they are riding that line does not mean that it is the fastest.

If you do  happen to do well make sure you shake hands with the other riders and especially shake hands if a hand is offered to you when you finish if you don't do well as some guys are very rude when they have not done well.

Never do anything in a race that you haven't nailed in practice.  Walk the track beforehand and then make a point of watching the other races as you can see what line is the best to take on a particular corner by watching the others to see who consistantly comes out best.

If you drop your bike get it up as quickly as possible as it is amazing how much you lose by being slow.

But most of all enjoy the day.

  5. well for one make sure u hav a pretty decentrider when ur startin like no how to jump an stuff an can hancle speed an make sure u practice ur ridin as offten as u can but most of all mate JUsT HAV FUN!

  6. get a good start by leaning back on the bike to give the back more traction then just fined the right groove but the most important thing is to go out and have fun besides its Ur fist race just go out and have a blast.

  7. DO NOT pop your clutch.

When coming off the starting gates give it gas and let out your clutch as you would when you first start going or a little bit faster.

But whatever you do dont just let it go.

If you do you will lose all control go into a wheelie.

and your clutch parts inside the engine will blow which will cost you a grand at least to get it fixed if not more.

I only know that cuz my dad did it his first race.

also keep your elbows up it will help so you dont just open up unexpectantly.

stand up coming off of jumps.

if you come off a jump and you see your front tire going down to soon and you need to lift it so you dont go over your handle bars hit the gas and to bring it back down jam the brakes.

oh also i think i have one last thing when your going threw the course you should be in 2nd if not 3rd gear. but when coming around the corners go down to first. it will help you to gain speed faster coming out of that turn.

    but other than that.

have funn dont worry abt it.

since this is your first race dont try to beat every one.

you beat one person thats great.

but if you dont, dont beat yourself up cause of it.

when you get to the starting gates you will have butterflys.

but once you start going it is the best feeling in the world trust me.

dont worry abt it too much tho.

    you will do fine.

    have funn dont forget that.

you wont win anything if you dont have funn with it.

  8. Relax and breath.  Just do what you know and don't overthink a situation.

  9. have fun, thats the most important thing to remember is just to go out there and have fun. Dont try to win the first time out, because you really have no idea how its going to go.

take time out and ride or walk around the track slowly, learn where the ruts, rocks, and lines are.

during practice, just go out and ride the track normally, dont do any jump that you feel you cant clear.

in time the jitters you are feeling will go away and you will become more relaxed and in time you will get faster and start improving your results.

first thing to remember is just to have fun doing this sport.....

  10. Train, cardio and weights.   But is the end, their is no replacement for riding the bike.   Practice corner speed.  Everybody will learn to jump.  be fast in the corners is the key to running top 10. Jump everything top 5. Great through the whoops top 3.  Best conditioning  top 2. Confidence in abilty equals winner.  If you start running top ten spend the money and have our suspension redone by a professional.  Tricking the motor is nice but a rider that is capable of winning could start dead last and still be top 3 by the end.

  11. dont be scared of ur bike or the jump because when ur afraid thats when u usually wreck  i know i race have fun dylan p

  12. GET A GOOD START! I race mx. If you stuff the start you've stuffed the race!!! Make sure to get a good gate. depending on the type of first corner depends on where you start. If it tight, try to start in the middle to outside so you can flow through the corner and dont need to slow down as much. Also look at the starting pin which holds the gate up and not look at the gate itself. The pin drops first, not the gate. Also sit towards the front of the bike and lean forward over the bike to stop wheelstanding(wheelie). Also when you start hold it half throttle so you have enough power to get out of the gate fast. Also use second gear not first. First gives you to higher revs too quickly and you will not be quick enough to change gears.
